We hired her later in the pregnancy (around 35 weeks) due to the sudden & tragic loss of our 5-year-old nephew, and knew we needed extra emotional support heading into the birth. Emily helped me find my voice and advocate for myself in the labor room when I needed intermittent monitoring and the freedom to move around the room while in labor. Emily was such an important role in my birth. I had very inconsistent and near constant contractions for over 24 hours. Emily brought a calm energy and was ready to encourage me, physically support me by using counter pressure every contraction for hours on end. By the time I was pushing she was going between capturing the moment and having a cold washcloth for me between contractions. At the end I got to see photos she captured throughout labor and have the moments to remember. I could not recommend using Embolden Doula Services more and I will definitely be using them again for my next birth.

My partner and I worked with Emily as our birth doula in January 2025. In the months prior, Emily was so thoughtful in developing a relationship with both of us and helping us to be able to articulate our concerns, hopes, and expectations for how things would go. We had an incredible experience with Emily as our doula for our first baby! She was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and such an incredibly warm and encouraging presence.

When I was struggling with my provider mid pregnancy, she helped me navigate switching providers which I couldn’t do without her. She was always prompt when I had any questions both during pregnancy and postpartum. When I struggled to get my milk in she helped me get donor milk and even brought it to my house. She really goes above and beyond!
